So, You Have a Website Now

How do you handle starting something new? For me, the first few steps are always the scariest. Especially when you are personally and emotionally tied to whatever you bringing to life. Daring to be “the man in the arena,” to endure the critics, to follow your gut and do something you know you were born takes courage. Today, I am reminded that courage is not the absence of fear but rather one’s ability to act despite their fear. So, deep breath…….here goes.

Today I’m sharing with you all that I have launched my own website. You can find it using the link below. If you have any suggestions on how to make it better, I’d love to hear those.

My hope is that it helps get me closer to this dream I have of taking the unique mix of and talents that make me, me and sharing them with others. My passion truly is helping people be the best versions of themselves and here’s the thing……..I’m really good at it. It’s funny how hard that is for me to say. Sometimes I hit this barrier in, let’s call it “programmed humility,” that can often make it difficult for me to share with others that there are things that I know I excel at. So, there you go – two scary/uncomfortable things in one day. Go me!

So, what do I hope others will gain from visiting my website? You’ll find out about how I have been able to take my unique experiences, skills, and talents to help others and how I want to increase the scale of those opportunities. I am looking to share what I’ve learned through keynotes, personalized coaching, consulting engagements, and workshops while, of course, bringing a unique style that helps people to see issues from different perspectives. Be sure to visit the blogs I have posted where you will see glimpses of that unique perspective.

I have several friends and connections that have websites and I’m always so impressed with how flawless and professional they look. What’s helping me with my fear of putting myself out there is acknowledging to you and to myself that flawless is not the word I would use to describe my website. I don’t think it ever will be. That just isn’t me. I want people to see the flaws and imperfections. The scars, the lessons learned, the face “marred by dust and sweat and blood,” – all of it will be on full display because that’s what has made me, me. More importantly, that’s what you get when you book me.

We all of scars. We all have those moments when we know we could have and should have known better. Fortunately, that’s where the growth happens and that’s what drives me. The mud, the mess, the left turns that should have gone right, have all provided us with valuable lessons that will help us grow but we have to be willing to learn from those moments versus spending our time lamenting them.

So, your LinkedIn connection has his own website now. The world probably won’t take note and that’s ok. Maybe I’m not meant to change the world. Maybe I’m better off connecting with someone and helping them unleash their own ability to change the world while I cheer from the sidelines. I wish I could put into words the amount of joy envisioning that moment brings me. Maybe that someone is you.

Regardless, I am grateful for the gift of your time you have given me today. May you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the time with your family and friends. And, if you think I can help you or your organization, be sure to reach out.

Be Well!
